CPG’s 8th Annual International Conference: The Global Commons and the Governance of Unappropriated Spaces
20 October 2017 - 22 October 2017
CPG’s 8th Annual International Conference “The Global Commons and the Governance of Unappropriated Spaces” will be held on 20-22 October 2017 at Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel Bangkok.
This year, CPG is pleased to organise its annual conference on the subject of the increasingly contested “Global Commons and the Governance of Unappropriated Spaces”. Despite its striking relevance and the manifold conflicts and crises that arise from, or are related to these matters, too little convincing conceptual work has been done thus far. The conference aims to fill a gap here and will explore concepts from a fundamental theoretical perspective, as well as discuss ongoing trends and (the lack of) available legal and political instruments addressing these challenges.
No other legal and political issue is comparable in its potential to undermine the rule of law and global order.
CPG is pleased to confirm the attendance of most distinguished academics and practitioners from countries across the world, including the United States, Germany, Canada, Australia, Thailand and many others.
A beautiful venue at one of Bangkok’s most prestigious hotels, The Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel, will ensure an outstanding, productive and communicative environment for participants to engage with all speakers as well as each other. The two conference days (21/22.10) include lunch in a private venue as well as coffee breaks throughout the day. Registration for the conference is still open. The conference-opening event on the evening of Friday (20.10) is by invitation only.Infographic and Recommended Readings
